as a Senior Claims Specialist in a hybrid setting that blends remote and in‑person collaboration. This role includes reviewing, analyzing, and processing moderately complex to complex claims in the area of commercial rideshare injury and property/ casualty. It requires decision making on liability, loss evaluation, settlement negotiation, and management of a portfolio of claims involving bodily injury or property loss.
We require the incumbent to work from the office at one of several locations at least twice a month if an office is within 50 miles of your home (Boston, MA; Westborough, MA; Hoffman Estates, IL; Weatogue, CT; Indianapolis, IN; Plano, TX; Suwanee, GA; Lake Oswego, OR; Las Vegas, NV; Chandler, AZ).
Base pay range:
$74,000 – $139,000 per year.
Responsibilities
Conduct investigations of claims, including interviewing parties, collecting documentation, securing evidence, and maintaining chain of custody.
Refer claims to subrogation or special investigations units when appropriate.
Assess policy coverage, notify insureds of issues, establish reserve requirements, and adjust reserves during claim processing.
Determine damages and negotiate settlements within authority limits.
Coordinate litigation activities, attend trials as a company representative.
Provide senior technical guidance, mentor new team members, and assist with escalated issues.
Participate in quality review and in suit committees, arbitrations, mediations, and field investigations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for communication with customers and investigative work.
Leadership and time‑management abilities to delegate and organize resources effectively.
Expertise in claims case handling practices, legal liability, general insurance coverage, and state tort laws, evidenced by a bachelor’s degree or equivalent training with 4–6 years of direct related experience, at least two of which in a team‑leader capacity.
Licensing required in some states.
