Associate Pastor of Worship and Family Ministries The Worship Leader & Family Ministry Coordinator will serve as a key member of the pastoral team, providing leadership in both corporate worship and family discipleship. This role combines musical and spiritual leadership in worship services with oversight of ministries that support children, students, and parents. The goal is to foster authentic, Christ‑centered worship and strengthen the faith of the next generation by equipping families to grow together in Christ.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and lead Christ-centered worship services in collaboration with the pastoral team.
Recruit, train, and disciple worship team members (musicians, vocalists, and tech volunteers).
Select music that is biblically grounded, theologically sound, and aligns with the vision of the church.
Oversee audio/visual/tech aspects of all worship ministries.
Support overall music ministry at The Branch at Mission Hills.
Encourage a culture of worship that extends beyond Sunday services into daily life.
Work with the Senior Pastor, church leaders, musicians, and others to plan and prepare an order of worship for Sunday morning services and Wednesday evening services, which will include weekly practices with the praise team.
Demonstrate the ability to adapt musical arrangements and keys to fit the specific vocal ranges and skills of the praise team vocalist and musicians.
Family Ministry
Provide vision and direction for children’s and student ministries in partnership with staff and volunteers.
Equip parents and guardians to disciple their children through resources, events, and training.
Recruit, train, and support volunteers for children’s and youth programs.
Organize family-focused events (retreats, camps, parenting seminars, intergenerational worship opportunities, VBS).
Partner with church leadership to ensure family ministries align with the overall mission of the church.
General Ministry Duties
Participate in staff meetings, ministry meetings, prayer gatherings, and church-wide events.
Provide pastoral care and support to families and team members.
Model a Christlike lifestyle and serve as a spiritual mentor to the congregation.
Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor.
Lead and direct the Church in keeping with The Branch at Mission Hills Constitution and Bylaws and Southern Baptist Convention’s The Baptist Faith and Message (2000).
Qualifications
A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him.
Agreement with the church’s statement of faith, mission, and values.
Musical proficiency (vocal and instrumental) with experience leading congregational worship.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience in children’s, youth, and family ministry.
Ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers.
Bachelor’s degree in ministry, music, or related field (preferred but not required).
Personal Qualities
Spiritually mature, servant-hearted, and prayerful.
Relational and approachable, with a passion for people of all ages.
Creative and adaptable, able to balance multiple responsibilities.
Committed to team ministry and collaborative leadership.
Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits package as determined by church policy.
Full‑Time Pastor – Hilmar First Baptist Church Hilmar First Baptist Church (Central Valley Baptist Convention) is a small rural congregation, looking for a full time pastor. Hilmar is a small unincorporated rural community in California’s Central Valley, known for its strong agricultural roots and close‑knit community. It’s located about 100 miles southeast of San Francisco and 90 miles south of Sacramento, with a population of around 5,000 residents. Our current average Sunday attendance is between 50 – 65 people. We are conservative in nature and hold Scripture to be wholly reliable and authoritative in all manners of life and conduct. We are seeking a pastor to be the spiritual leader of the church, following Southern Baptist teaching. He is responsible to the Lord and the church to primarily proclaim the gospel and teach the Bible. He is also to engage in pastoral care, provide supervisory leadership and administrate the volunteer staff. Our pastor is the only paid staff member. Our ideal candidate would be a true man of God who has some formal training and experience in teaching, preaching, and pastoral ministry. He should have a heart of compassion and zeal to encourage, instruct, challenge, and lead us forward in spiritual growth, individually and corporately. This pastor will need to have a sincere appreciation for the people of California and understand the rhythms of a farming community. We are asking the Lord for a man of wisdom, a sincere believer with Scriptural awareness, and a certain sense of hospitality and empathy toward others.
