Operations Department Overview With in‑house engineering, procurement, project management, and construction management expertise, our Operations group has established itself as a highly qualified and respected EPC partner in the electric utility industry. From the start, we have maintained an unwavering focus on schedules and budgets to ensure successful project completion. Strong project management practices and proactive risk assessment allow us to enhance project controls, minimize scope creep, and prevent costly delays. $150,000 – $175,000 (dependent on experience, education, and qualifications)
Profit‑Sharing Bonus:
Semi‑annual, performance‑based (10% to 20% of salary)

What You’ll Do We’re seeking a highly experienced Program Manager to lead high‑impact Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects focused on Distribution systems, ensuring power is delivered safely, reliably, and efficiently to the communities we serve. This senior‑level role is responsible for program development, cross‑functional leadership, operational excellence, and ensuring the successful delivery of major projects in the utility and industrial sectors.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in EPC project management in the utility industry—specifically distribution—and the ability to mentor and empower project managers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.
Partner with project sponsors and cross‑functional teams to define program scope, deliverables, resources, timelines, budgets, and objectives.
Manage program and project teams to maximize ROI and meet organizational goals.
Coordinate and delegate initiatives across multiple projects and teams.
Identify requirements for cross‑functional groups and external vendors.
Lead budgeting for programs and ensure financial alignment with business goals.
Collaborate with fellow program managers to identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements across the department.
Analyze and mitigate program risks; prepare reports for leadership and key stakeholders.
Hire, train, and mentor Project Managers; develop training and professional development plans.
Lead process development, implementation, and continuous improvement.
Review and approve project plans, cost estimates, schedules, cash flow, and risk considerations.
Review and approve subcontractor contracts and change orders.
Monitor project performance including safety, scope, cost, schedule, cash flow, quality, and risk.
Oversee proposals, bid preparation, project schedules, and bill of materials.
Conduct quality reviews of project management processes and deliverables.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or 20+ years equivalent experience)
PMP certification (highly preferred)
10‑15+ years of progressive project/program management experience in multi‑discipline EPC projects within the utility industry, particularly including distribution projects
Strong knowledge of transmission and substation design, CPM scheduling, utility accounting practices, contract administration, and permitting
Proven ability to oversee multiple Project Managers executing large, complex projects
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a passion for developing high‑performing teams
Strategic and analytical problem‑solving
Organizational management, influence, and collaboration
Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and multiple concurrent projects
Conflict management and mentoring skills
Experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
