Key Responsibilities

Capture ownership of assigned opportunities in support of KBR’s growth mission and vision.

Manage and execute the full business development life‑cycle process across multiple simultaneous pursuits and proposals.

Be routinely assigned 2–3 large ($150M+) solicitation pursuits at various stages of the capture lifecycle primarily in USAF market.

Conceptualize a winning strategy, develop a capture plan that implements the strategy and translates into win themes, adjust the strategy as the procurement unfolds, and drive the capture activities and team (internal and external) to achieve the strategy through final proposal submission.

Plan, lead, and execute capture activities to include:

Develop a healthy pipeline of new opportunities through customer outreach and the use of business development intelligence tools.

Lead the development and submission of white papers, RFI responses, sources sought responses, and other pre‑proposal artifacts as assigned.

Qualify and assess the “win‑ability” of new opportunities.

Secure knowledge of the customer’s requirements, challenges, issues, and needs during the capture phase and lead solutioning/planning sessions with the capture team.

Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.

Lead milestone/gate reviews, black‑hat sessions, solution sessions, blue teams, and support proposal color team reviews.

Lead competitive assessments, teaming, and price‑to‑win efforts.

Apply KBR capture management best practices to each pursuit, including creating and disseminating capture artifacts – call reports, B&P budgets, win plans, solution documentation, key strengths statements.

Brief capture status to senior management at specified milestones, when material changes occur, and as requested.

Lead the development of a clean, concise, and compelling proposal brief and solution package.

Work Environment

Location: Remote (preferred near major Air Force customer sites).

Travel: Moderate (20‑50% of work time, approximately 20‑30% travel to client locations).

Working Hours: Standard.

Required Qualifications

Security Clearance Requirement: Active SECRET clearance.

Bachelor’s Degree and a total of 15+ years of experience that includes 6+ years of industry experience and 6+ years of experience in business development or an equivalent growth position. Bachelor’s degree equivalent related experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.

Strong network of USAF clients is required.

Must have a demonstrable history of winning large prime, single award, non‑IDIQ contracts.

Proven ability to work with senior business and government leaders, understand requirements, and craft solutions.

Working knowledge of and experience with USAF acquisition organizations.

Proven success in business development, capture management, program management, acquisition processes, opportunity identification, and qualification.

Demonstrated leadership skills in services‑centric organizations to develop, organize and execute significant capture activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions.
