Position Summary: The Analyst Strategic Maintenance Planning will report to the Manager, Strategic Maintenance Planning on the Maintenance Planning team in Technical Operations (Tech Ops). Maintenance Planning is responsible for planning & coordinating all aircraft maintenance tasks on the JetBlue fleet. Our mission is to provide a safe, compliant and reliable aircraft to every customer, every flight, every day. The Analyst Strategic Maintenance Planning will help inform the Operations Strategy for JetBlue Aircraft Line Maintenance.
Gather historical data and publish weekly and monthly operational performance reports.
Assess trends and provide recommendations to support a fast-paced and growing Airline Operation
Develop presentations, reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for regular production meetings that drive executive-level decision making
Review flight schedules, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable feedback to Maintenance Planners and the Network Planning team
Develop and refine the long term forecast of fleet maintenance to inform resource requirements and Planning Strategy
Support Tech Ops in assessing performance of various operational initiatives
Build Excel tools and Python scripts to aggregate and analyze Maintenance Operations data
Develop and maintain Excel Templates and Macros used by Maintenance Planning Team
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation, Operations, Data Analytics, or other quantitative field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant experience
One (1) year of experience in an analytical role, ideally in aviation, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or management consulting
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Expert in Excel pivot tables, look up functions, charts and VBA
Experience with R, Python, or similar programming language
Experience with analyzing large datasets from multiple sources
Working knowledge of statistics and other data analysis concepts
Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
Currently in possession of a valid passport or equivalent travel documents to travel in and out of the United States
Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Two (2) years of work experience in the airline industry
Experience in Operations and/or experience in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies
Certifications in Continuous Improvement, Lean and/or Six Sigma
Experience with Data Visualization tools
Experience with database querying (e.g. SQL, MS Access)
Regular attendance and punctuality
Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
Able to maintain a professional appearance
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is between $50,000.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
