Schedule: 100% Onsite | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
About the Opportunity We’re partnering with a rapidly growing food industry organization that prides itself on a family‑like, people‑first culture. As the company moves through a period of accelerated expansion, they’re seeking a Buyer – Supply Planner to strengthen procurement operations, improve supplier performance, and support the organization’s evolving supply‑chain needs. This is a high‑impact role for someone who thrives in fast‑paced environments, knows how to balance cost, quality and timelines, and can seamlessly manage purchasing activities while maintaining accurate inventory planning. You’ll work directly with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to ensure the business remains well‑supplied, cost‑effective and protected from operational disruptions.
What You’ll Be Doing
Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, and issue purchase orders.
Monitor inventory levels while optimizing safety stock and controlling storage costs.
Support demand forecasting and align sourcing activities with projected needs.
Maintain budget records for each supplier, ensuring purchasing activities remain on track.
Place purchase orders promptly and ensure all deadlines are met.
Negotiate delivery schedules that align with procurement and production timelines.
Oversee master data maintenance to ensure accuracy of product and vendor details.
Place urgent or rush orders to prevent stockouts.
Follow up on open orders to ensure timely delivery and quantity accuracy.
Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues or product defects.
Track procurement KPIs including inventory turnover, fill rates and supplier performance.
Generate reports for procurement, supply chain and leadership teams as needed.
Partner with Quality to ensure all purchased products comply with company standards.
Identify supply‑chain risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What They’re Looking For
4+ years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Planning, Demand Planning or Materials Management.
Strong knowledge of supply‑chain operations, especially procurement and replenishment.
Excel proficiency – comfortable analyzing data, trends and usage patterns.
SAP experience highly preferred; general ERP or supply/demand planning system experience desired.
Strong organizational skills, proactive problem‑solving mindset and solid communication abilities.
Ability to manage competing priorities, handle time‑sensitive orders and maintain detailed documentation.
