Job Summary Working closely with the Assistant Club Manager of Merchandise, the Assistant Night Manager ensures merchandise is properly stocked and available for sale, maintains presentation standards, delivers a positive member experience, and oversees nightly execution and performance of merchandise department tasks. Although not a direct supervisory role, you direct the overnight team, coaching them to uphold Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) standards and ensuring merchandise is available in proper quantities.

As Manager on Duty (MOD) when required, you take full responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and member engagement during assigned shifts. You must complete yearly forklift certification.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Lead overnight merchandising execution with purpose, collaborating with Assistant Club Manager of Merchandising.

Support execution of merchandising tasks, coordinate staffing, training, and task execution for forklift operators and merchandising teams.

Execute key overnight merchandising tasks – display setup, pallet movement, sales floor resets.

Maintain merchandise presentation and availability on the sales floor by opening time.

Follow corporate merchandising plans, resets, and sales initiatives.

Recommend improvements to merchandising strategies to drive incremental sales.

Maintain building and equipment readiness, including forklifts, refrigeration, and merchandising tools.

Operate forklifts safely, perform inspections, and enforce safety and sanitation protocols.

Lead safety and sanitation compliance – steel and pallet safety checks, sanitation procedures.

Ensure proper execution of inventory controls – Hot List completion, pallet tag placement.

Promote audit readiness and compliance – complete required documentation and safety processes.

Utilize reporting tools (Hot List, NAFS, price sign reports, dashboards) to guide team focus.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with other Managers to align overnight processes with daytime operations.

Uphold all company policies, operational guidelines, and safety requirements during overnight shift.

Support other departments or initiatives as directed by leadership.

Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance on overnight shifts.

Qualifications

Basic computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, Email).

High school diploma, college degree, or experience in big‑box wholesale, retail, grocery, and/or management.

Forklift operator required; prior forklift operating and merchandising experience preferred.

At least 18 years of age.

Open shift availability required.

Maintain all training and required certifications.

Job Conditions

Frequent movement on hard surfaces; occasional bending, pulling, and reaching.

Regular lifting up to 30 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.

Use of pallet jack to pull/push pallets.

Exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises within perishable areas.

Potential exposure to cleaning agents.

Pay Range In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the compensation range for this position is $20.50 - $25.63 per hour. Actual salaries will vary based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
