Terminal Supervisor
– Wayfair Distribution – South Elgin, IL
Shift: Wednesday – Saturday, 5:00 PM – 3:30 AM
Salary: $93,250 – $98,250 per year (full‑time)
Job Overview The Terminal Supervisor oversees daily operations of a Wayfair Home Delivery Operation, ensuring safety, customer experience, employee experience, quality, and cost while coordinating between warehouse and transportation teams. This leadership role drives key performance indicators, develops talent, maintains strong partnerships with delivery partners, and collaborates with stakeholders to guarantee terminal success.
Responsibilities
Supervise warehouse workers’ functions and performance.
Delegate tasks, assign targets, and evaluate staff work.
Ensure compliance with safety and legal procedures.
Manage shift allocations to maximize warehouse efficiency.
Organize and conduct training activities for staff and workers.
Maintain safe operation of all warehouse tools and equipment.
Support and work effectively with other managers within the functional team.
Drive specific initiatives that deliver proven business results.
Proactively identify additional analytic needs and address second‑order questions.
Respond accurately and timely to queries related to your area of focus.
Serve as a credible company expert in your domain.
Prepare and run internal meetings with supporting analytics and data.
Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or associate degree in management, administration, supply chain, customer service, or five or more years of experience in product distribution.
Knowledge of safety and legal documentation processes (MSDS, equipment checklist, BOL).
Working understanding of Warehouse Management Systems.
Excellent leadership and administrative skills.
Strong motivational, team‑building, and decision‑making skills.
Effective time‑management and crisis‑resolution abilities.
Comfortable lifting up to 75 lbs unassisted and maneuvering 150 + lbs unassisted or via team lift.
Ability to read and comprehend English.
Acceptance of overtime as needed.
