Overview The Manager, Materials Planning is responsible for all production and material planning activities, creating the production and material schedules to meet corporate metrics that include on‑time delivery, capacity utilization, forecast accuracy, inventory days of supply, and inventory turns targets. In addition, this leader will oversee the planning team and coordinate with key cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure production schedule adherence, inventory optimization and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic and tactical planning strategies that align with Frontgrade’s operational and business goals
Manage, mentor and implement succession strategies for the planning team
Ensure production plan aligns with customer requirements and business priorities
Develop methods and standards to measure and monitor flow and control of material on the manufacturing floors (WIP management)
Utilize and manage core metrics and key process indicators to lead the planning and production control teams in order to ensure material supply meets production requirements
Work with the teams to capitalize on opportunities and issues such as what‑if scenarios, push‑outs and pull‑ins
Develop and maintain comprehensive capacity models that include rough cut capacity and resource utilization planning
Implement weekly cadence to monitor schedule attainment, review customer priorities, proactively elevate issues and monitor material shortages
Participate in SIOP process working closely, and serving as a backup, with the master planners to ensure job orders/WIP is in line with minimal compression
Ensure ERP master data is optimized and updated to ensure data integrity
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 6 years experience in planning, manufacturing, or operations management roles
Strong expertise with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, M2M, etc)
Demonstrated experience in team leadership, resource allocation, and KPI development
Bachelor’s Degree, Minimum four (4) years of experience in people management. Minimum six (6) years of experience in field. OR Master’s Degree: Minimum two (2) years of experience in people management. Minimum six (6) years of experience in field.
Applicable experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
Additional Information
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain a U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
Pay Range: $101,194 - 126,493 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
