Tactical Operations and Air Weapons Specialist

Patuxent River, MD . This is an

onsite

position. This position supports the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) systems Engineering Department (SED). This is an opportunity to be part of a team that plays a crucial role in keeping our nation’s military safe and mission successful. Responsibilities

Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for aircraft/weapon systems, covering operational procedures, installation and maintenance, failure analysis, and technical troubleshooting across all major subsystems (avionics, airframe, weapons, navigation, fire control, and other aircraft systems)

Developing and managing technical data and publications for weaponizing, including NATOPS and NATIP products

Analyzing platform operational suitability of naval aviation platforms, weapons, sensors, and systems

Developing and presenting Naval Aviation Missions and Capabilities (NAMC) training and support technical exchanges for new Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)

Developing, preparing, and managing material required for the operator to employ or maintain the aircraft and its weapon systems

Applying advanced technical knowledge to drive organizational, business, and strategic initiatives

Providing expert technical guidance on specialized applications and operational environments, covering systems analysis, design, integration, and implement

Providing solutions for software, hardware, and systems; and troubleshoot operating anomalies using data review methodologies and/or automated evaluation programs

Driving organizational success by analyzing data, solving complex problems, communicating strategic and operational insights, and providing expert support for technical operations, strategic initiatives, workforce development, and business improvement

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, Management, Technical, or Scientific field from an accredited college or university

12+ years of recent and relevant professional experience with aircraft tactical systems

Graduate of a Navy Weapons School (e.g., TOPGUN), Test Pilot School (TPS), or Marine Aviation Weapons Training Squadron-1 (MAWTS-1)

Must be a Weapons Tactics Instructor (WTI) and possess one of the following: Navy Pilot or NFO with at least 700 flight hours, Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO), Tactics Officer (TACCO), Head of a Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS), Weapon Systems Officer (WSO), Weapons School Instructor, Former Department Head or Officer in Charge (OIC) with Level IV WTI, or Graduate from: Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapons School (CAEWWS), Electronic Attack Weapons School (EAWS) Intelligence Schools

Must have experience with one of the following: MQ-25 stores management, small UAS weaponization/stores integration to include Air/Ship integration and WSERB support, operational weapons, or acquisition experience

Clearance Requirements

Must have an active Secret security clearance

Physical Requirements

Tasking is primarily computer based. The person in this position must be able to operate and perform tasking on a PC as well as operate other typical office equipment (e.g. copying machine, shredder, projection systems, etc.).

Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, Customers, and management through email, phone, and other virtual communication methods (e.g. TEAMS, ZOOM).
