We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Estimator to support our growing operations in the Phoenix market. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive estimates for commercial mechanical projects, with a strong emphasis on HVAC and plumbing systems. The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with operations and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial mechanical construction projects, including HVAC and plumbing scopes
Perform quantity takeoffs, labor analysis, and material pricing based on drawings and specifications
Review bid documents, drawings, and addenda to ensure complete scope coverage
Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor pricing
Develop value-engineering options and alternates to support competitive bids
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field leadership during preconstruction
Participate in bid reviews and turnover meetings to ensure a smooth transition to operations
Maintain historical cost data and update estimating databases
Track bid results and analyze wins and losses to improve future estimates
Support budgeting and conceptual estimating during early project phases
Qualifications
7+ years of experience estimating commercial mechanical construction projects
Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
Experience estimating projects such as healthcare, education, industrial, data centers, or large commercial buildings preferred
Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Trimble, QuoteSoft, FastPIPE/FastDUCT, or similar)
Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
