The Role The candidate will remove, repair, and install various types of insulation; including fiberglass, calcium silicate, and rubatex from piping systems, ventilation systems, and various components and structures throughout the ship. Candidate may also remove/install floor tiling.

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking qualified insulators, with 2+ years of hands on insulation work experience.

Must Have

Must be able to perform kneeling, squatting, crawling, bending, stooping, and climbing on a daily basis.

Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.

Must be able to perform overhead work.

Must be able to be clean shaven to wear a respirator.

Must be able to perform work outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions.

Must be able to work at extreme heights.

Must be able to work in small, tight, confined spaces.

Must be able to work any shift to accommodate production needs.

Nice to Have

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
