AV Design Engineer

This role is located on-site in Fayetteville, NC and requires an active Top Secret (TS) clearance.
Responsibilities
Creating Drawing Packages and Bill of Materials in CAD.
Design and testing of complex videoconferencing and integrated audio/visual technologies (videoconferencing, control systems, displays, video walls and matrix systems, audio reinforcement systems, cameras, microphones, document cameras, streaming technologies, etc.) and A/V based collaboration technologies.
Design of audio/video systems with Crestron, AMX, and Extron control systems.
Conduct customer site surveys and provide sales engineering support, including collecting and recording detailed operational, functional, and technical requirements, developing project scopes, and providing overall system costing for A/V projects.
Design, test, and troubleshoot various network and telecommunications systems, including IP networks and ISDN networks.
Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of electrical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
Develop test plans for complex AV control system functional acceptance tests of AMX, Crestron, and Extron control systems.
Develop and conduct on-site user and administrative training for the installed integrated audio/visual systems.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline with 5+ years of progressive experience, OR Master’s Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of progressive experience in the following areas:
Developing and implementing hardware and software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure technologies.
Demonstrated experience with developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures for the design and implementation of complex projects.
Demonstrated experience performing technical cross‑training/coaching of junior colleagues.
Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
Familiarity with IT, telecommunications, A/V, and electrical equipment, including related materials and specifications.
Strong knowledge of videoconferencing standards.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
Experience performing complex design/build and conceptual design practices.
AutoCAD experience, or experience drafting with a similar drafting software.
Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 20% of the time.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $60,000 – $180,000 USD, which is only a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation.
Compensation is considered based on responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and other internal factors.
