About the Role
We're seeking an experienced HSE Consultant to join the team with a global biotechnology company in the RTP area!
This person will provide management/supervision to ensure all site associates understand and comply with all applicable regulatory, plant and corporate EHS and related policies and procedures.
This is a project-based position for 6-12 months and will work part-time hours of 8-16 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Ensures that all EHS reporting is completed timely and accurately
Maintains safety systems, policies, and procedures for the site
Inspects facilities, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices to identify potential safety and health concerns and hazards
Conducts accident investigation and provides recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
Acts as Company representative in dealing with government agencies on safety, health and environmental matters affecting the site
Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company
Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics
Compiles and submits required safety, health, and environmental reports to corporate and regulatory agencies
Assist with managing contractor EHS compliance
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
5-10 years of hands-on ESH experience, ideally chemical handling
Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or scientific field preferred
CSP or CIH certification ideal or OSHA 30-hour certified
Proficient computer skills (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
Ability to deliver training materials utilizing various types of media
The employee will occasionally have to lift up to 50 pounds
