What You'll Do Primary Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical and plumbing systems independently.
Prepare and revise documentation across various project phases.
Manage and execute mechanical engineering deliverables across multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.
Develop project scope, budgets, and design approaches for projects of varying complexity.
Prepare data sheets and specifications for equipment procurement.
Conduct quality assurance and control on personal and peer projects.
Assist in creating new standards and specifications for the mechanical engineering group.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends and recommend changes to approaches and client services as needed.
Participate in client/vendor/contractor project requirement meetings, value analysis sessions, and cost estimating activities.
Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications and related documents.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need Position Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida or ability to attain reciprocity. NCEES record and ability to obtain PE in other states is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering and design experience, including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Boilers, Chillers, and Central Heating (CH) systems.
Project experience in designing Mechanical/HVAC systems for various markets, including commercial, utility, industrial, institutional and municipal.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, energy/load simulation software, and Microsoft Office.
Proficiency in mechanical design software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and design principles.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering data.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar software’s platforms.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to effectively multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
