Summary The Biomedical Library is looking for a Research Publication and Content Editor for their Magnolia Campus location.

Job Summary The Research Scientific Publishing and Repository Specialist

serves as a senior editor for key manuscripts and projects, while also acting as the primary facilitator of educational and publication repository initiatives within the Office of Scientific Publications.

Collaborating closely with the Biomedical Library, the role contributes to the development and maintenance of the Moffitt Publication Repository, Manuscript Pre-Submission Review Process, in addition to editing SOPs, topic guidelines, webpages, and resource guides.

The role involves extensive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including grant administrators, members of the Office of Scientific Development, and sponsors (NIH, DOD, etc.), to develop and maintain internal tracking and reporting required by grants, research projects, and institutional authorities.

Manuscript Pre-Submission Review Process

Faculty Peer-Review & Writing Group

The role will lead educational initiatives in scientific writing and publishing for faculty, postdocs, and graduate students, developing materials on open access, scholarly communications, and academic identity management. The role promotes scholarly copyright education, developing programs and best practices in consultation with key stakeholders. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the position offers editorial support for high-priority manuscripts and grant applications.

Credentials and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or technical writing (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, technical writing, or related field); with five (5) years of experience in a research or academic setting, with a focus on scientific editing/writing.

Medical Writer Certified (MWC®) required within one (1) year of hire.
