Position:
Road Mechanic (Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level) – Sunbelt Rentals, Inc.
Location:
Arlington, VA (remote locations may be required).
Pay Range Base pay: $27.11/hr – $37.27/hr (may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience).
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment including aerial work platforms, general construction tools, pumps, HVAC systems, and large‑scale generators.
Work on a variety of makes, models, and equipment in challenging remote locations.
Support a safety‑focused environment and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
Maintain records of service activities and assist with tool and parts inventory.
Collaborate with team to develop career track in service or operations management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training preferred.
3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines (large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC, oil & gas equipment) strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (21 years of age; CDL license may be required in some locations). Bilingual Spanish or other may be required.
Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform manual tasks such as bending, squatting, and reaching.
Willingness to provide personal mechanic tools of trade.
