Salary Range:

$71,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Caledonia seeking Design Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop new products, components, or systems from concept to production, optimizing for manufacturing processes.

Create detailed 2D engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and specifications using industry-standard software.

Conduct design analysis, including material selection, stress calculations, and tolerance stack-ups, to ensure product performance and reliability.

Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.

Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering standards.

Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation to refine designs and resolve technical challenges.

Investigate and implement continuous improvement opportunities for existing products and manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for design, modeling, and drafting.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and materials science.

Demonstrated experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.

Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards and their application.

Proven ability to take designs from concept through to production, including prototyping and testing.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software.

Advanced understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Hands-on prototyping, assembly, or testing experience.

Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
