Reports To Design Manager
Summary You will be responsible for overseeing the creation of innovative artwork and structural box samples. These samples directly support our Sales Representatives in their promotional efforts and contribute to securing new business.
Key Responsibilities
Generate and present creative ideas for new accounts and products, considering customer needs and production feasibility.
Collaborate with Sales Representatives to present new designs and products to clients and prospects.
Proactively review existing accounts and recommend updates for style, board weight, and other developments.
Stay informed about industry changes and research new equipment innovations to enhance company operations.
Manage workload priorities and ensure all deadlines are met.
Uphold and promote all company policies and procedures, including safety standards and maintaining a tidy workspace.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education & Experience : College degree or significant coursework in drafting, design, or engineering; or 1‑2 years’ experience in packaging or a related field.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications : Experience in a production or manufacturing facility, particularly within the corrugated industry; formal training or education in graphic arts; college internship in corrugated industry CAD knowledge and experience.
Language Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations; proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; strong presentation skills for various audiences including management, clients, and the public.
Mathematical Skills : Aptitude for working with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry; ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios; skilled in problem definition, data collection, fact establishment, and drawing sound conclusions; capable of interpreting complex technical instructions and managing abstract and concrete variables.
Technical Skills : Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities for efficient operation; understanding of cost implications to make daily decisions that reduce overall costs and identify areas for improvement; experience with budget development, adherence, and analysis; familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., wage and hour, environmental, OSHA).
Physical Demands The role regularly requires talking, hearing, sitting, and standing. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment The work environment is typical of an office setting within a manufacturing operation.
