Organization And Position Overview

Lilly recently announced a $4.5 billion investment to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. The first‑ever facility of its kind will allow Lilly to further develop innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and increase capacity for clinical trial medicines while reducing costs and environmental impact. Job Position Overview

The Supervisor provides leadership and direct management to the process operators in the Medicine Foundry operations group. The Supervisor is the management representative on shift, supports start‑up activities, leverages knowledge to train the team, and travels domestically and internationally to collaborate with sites producing APIs. Responsibilities

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing safety, quality, and compliance of products and facilities. Key tasks include: Enforce compliance requirements (safety, quality, environmental) and appropriately escalates adverse events. Oversee operation of processes and equipment according to batch records, manual, design parameters, SOPs, and work instructions. Monitor, test, clean, and operate area equipment and systems; ensure all systems are in good operating condition and maintained. Promote a site safety culture by leading by example and encouraging accountability at all levels. Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting and reaction to process upsets; integrate operator input and escalating as appropriate. Follow all safety event reporting and documentation procedures and initiate emergency response procedures as needed. Follow all quality event reporting and documentation procedures; interface with Quality Assurance and escalates issues as needed. Communicate between shifts regarding the status of area operations and address any issues that occur at shift passover. Participate in daily shift huddles and meetings to set operational goals. Lead and assign building and area operations such as safety audits, procedure coordination, housekeeping, and continuous improvement projects. Ensure all personnel follow cGMP practices, safe work habits, plant dress code, hygiene standards, and housekeeping requirements unique to the area and job classification. Enforce use of specified company‑supplied personal protective equipment (PPE). Deploy operators effectively to meet production schedules, maintain adequate coverage for emergency response teams, and manage holiday and overtime levels. Manage employee performance on shift, complete annual performance management processes, and provide coaching and feedback. Ensure all shift members are appropriately trained and that operating procedures and training material are available and current. Partner with area Associate Director to understand Foundry strategy and future production needs; support strategy in conversations with shift members. Collaborate formally and informally with maintenance, engineering, analytical laboratory, and Technical Support. Basic Requirements

HS Diploma/GED 5+ years experience directly supporting/supervising a manufacturing operation, preferably in a GMP and/or chemical processing environment. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing visa sponsorship for this position. Additional Skills/Preferences

Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in science, engineering, or technical field. Previous experience in facility/area start‑up environments. Previous experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. Demonstrated leadership experience. Skills in providing/receiving feedback and creating employee development plans. Basic computer skills (desktop software) are required. Solid understanding of FDA guidelines and cGMP requirements. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. Ability to work with a team, make independent decisions, and influence diverse groups. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle and prioritize multiple requests. Strong technical proficiency and ability to train and mentor others. Additional Information

Position Location: United States: Lebanon, IN – Lilly Medicine Foundry (initial location in Indianapolis, IN during pre‑startup phase). Travel Percentage: 10%. The anticipated wage for this position is $35.33 – $51.83 per hour. Full‑time employees also will be eligible for a company bonus depending on company and individual performance.
