Med Tech/Caregiver 7am to 7pm weekends only TerraBella Senior Living operates more than 30 senior‑living communities across the Carolinas, Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, and Tennessee, offering a full spectrum of care options from Active Independent Living to Assisted Living, Memory Care, and short‑term Respite Care. The Care/Medication Technician role at TerraBella Thornblade provides hands‑on care, physical and emotional support, and maintains a safe, home‑like environment for residents.

Care Giver

Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift; locates and physically checks on residents throughout the shift.

Observes, reports, and documents symptoms and changes such as skin integrity, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary participation, and activity engagement.

Responds promptly to security system alerts and resident call bells.

Notifies supervisor or Health Care Coordinator when a resident requires increased care.

Assists with continence management and disposes of all products to maintain sanitation of resident suites and community restrooms.

Serves and collects food trays, reports refusal of meals or loss of appetite.

Maintains cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas.

Practices good standard care precautions regarding cleanliness, hygiene, and health.

Promotes independence, dignity, and physical safety for each resident.

Handles activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating) as instructed.

Engages residents in life‑skills and enrichment activities.

Greets and assists all internal and external customers, guests, family members, vendors, and team members.

Assists with resident laundry as assigned and needed.

Medication Tech Duties

Reviews service plans to learn pertinent resident information.

Assists and observes medication and treatment administration, using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass.

Documents medication administration, including refusals or missed doses, and initials the records.

Maintains confidentiality of all resident information, including medication details.

Reports resident concerns related to medication to the Nurse or Health Care Coordinator.

Restocks medication cart after all medication passes.

Assists in checking medication regardless of packaging system.

Counts all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.

Maintains and cleans the Medication Room, medication charts, and treatment carts to ensure neatness, cleanliness, and availability of medications.

Follows re‑fill processes for medications.

Participates in the development and monthly updates of the Service Plan.

Takes and records vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates.

Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks, and hazardous chemicals immediately.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

Certified Nurse’s Aid certification preferred.

High School diploma or GED.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

CPR Certification preferred.

First Aid Certification preferred.

Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
