The Portfolio Monitoring Analyst serves as a vital link between credit administration and relationship management, ensuring timely review and accurate analysis of commercial loan performance. Through detailed covenant testing, financial spreading, and proactive communication, the analyst safeguards portfolio quality and identifies emerging risks. The role requires strong analytical ability, accountability, and collaboration to support sound credit decisions and maintain portfolio integrity. Key Responsibilities
Assess ongoing credit risk in the bank's commercial loan portfolio through timely review of assigned loans. Test all financial covenants for assigned loans and determine compliance based on executed loan documents. Update loan spreads upon receipt of required financial statements in the loan origination system. Identify deviations from agreed performance metrics and raise credit concerns to business partners. Collaborate with partners to ensure appropriate use of performance covenants and accurate documentation of calculation verbiage. Attitudes

Portfolio Monitoring Analyst I
Basic understanding of bank loan data and ability to spread financial data with minimal assistance. Locate covenant language and perform basic calculations per standard verbiage. Complete covenant testing forms promptly. Identify discrepancies between loan approvals, documents, and tracking system. Calculate risk ratings using internal matrix as new information arrives. Portfolio Monitoring Analyst II
Execute accurate covenant calculations and provide clear commentary. Collaborate to resolve covenant verbiage errors. Work independently toward department goals. Maintain high standards of loan portfolio data quality. Assist with reporting and project data review. Portfolio Monitoring Analyst III
Mentor junior team members and advise partners on covenant usage. Review commercial customer & loan info independently and provide feedback. Suggest process improvements and innovative solutions. Complete complex covenant calculations, especially for high exposure customers. Prioritize assignments and communicate delays. Requirements
To perform this position successfully, an individual must: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field. 2+ years of commercial credit analysis or lending experience (preferred). Strong language, technology, mathematical, and reasoning skills as detailed below. Benefits
