Position Summary The Escrow Officer /Closer is responsible for the review, processing, and closing of real estate transactions including residential purchase, commercial, refinance, vacant land, condominiums/townhouses and new construction builder properties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and ability to handle a Real Estate transaction from receipt of contract and/or Lender’s instructions to settlement and disbursement Reviews title commitments/preliminary reports and relay curative requirements to parties involved and research as necessary and take appropriate action Coordinates milestones and closing dates with parties to the transaction Understands policy types and endorsements’ and advises Clients on the options Reviews closing instructions and documents from Lenders and prepare settlement statements - CD’s accordingly Obtains signatures and notarizes, as required, for closing transactions with a brief explanation of all documents executed by the Buyer/Borrower and Seller; facilitates the answer of all questions from clients. Receipts in money, balances the file, creates and issues checks, and initiates or approves wire transfers Communicate and work with the Title Department to address clearance items, requirements and underwriting guidance Timely submit appropriate documents to the county recorders office Audits the file for all post-closing activities including policy issuance, reimbursements and document distribution Reviews escrow accounting reports to resolve any outstanding checks and open file balance Ideal candidate will have existing Client relationship and ability to retain transaction referrals Qualifications Experience in working with an Arizona Title and Escrow Company on residential purchase, commercial, refinance, vacant land, condominiums/townhouses and new construction builder properties. Proven results in managing client expectations, communication, and reporting Detailed oriented with a problem-solving mindset Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines and contract deliverables. 3 – 5 years of direct experience required Highly motivated Ability to work well under pressure, handle competing priorities and meet deadlines A high level of confidentiality to protect privacy rights Effectiveness as a team player Ability to easily prioritize job duties according to the needs of the company Strong sense of professionalism and positivity Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills verbally and through written electronic correspondence Ability to develop rapport with all levels of associates and establish credibility Excellent listening skills and the ability to use good judgment Strong interpersonal/relationship building skills Ability to work with a variety of people and have coping skills to handle difficult personalities, ranging from coworkers to clients Problem-solving and decision-making ability Ability to produce quality work Ability to think and solve problems strategically Advanced analytical skills, ability to analyze problems and provide appropriate solution Excellent attention to detail Ability to multitask Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Bachelors degree (B. A.) or higher in the business-related field from an accredited four-year college or university preferred Three to five years of direct and increasing productivity Supervisory Responsibilities Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of their direct transactions and assist other transaction within the Company as needed Carries out supervisory responsibilities overseeing an Escrow Assistant, based on business need, following the organization’s policies and applicable law Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, performance review and management, recognition, and counseling employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems Travel Some travel may be required.
