Overview

The #1 Wind Technician Development Program provides entry‑level wind technicians with exclusive training accredited through the Global Wind Organization (GWO). Job Summary

The TOP Wind Service Technicians will receive comprehensive wind safety and technical training, work primarily at a local wind site, and support service teams in performing preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator equipment. Report directly to the Program Manager and Site Manager, with indirect reporting to the Lead Technician on field jobs. Responsibilities include performing maintenance on turbine machinery, repairing components, maintaining tools, and ensuring safety compliance. No work within any Cabinet/Controller is performed without direct supervision by a certified Electrical Technician. This is a full‑time paid role that includes training upon hiring.

Qualifications

Must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship).

High School Diploma / GED and Associate Degree in a Technical Mechanical or Wind Energy discipline from an accredited college or wind technical school, or equivalent experience.

Successful completion of Basic Safety Training (First Aid, CPR, Fall Protection), Tower Safety Training (High‑angle rescue or wind tower rescue), Technical Training (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic), LOTO Training, and any other required training.

Pass background check and drug screening.

Desired Characteristics

Physical Requirements

Climb a 300‑foot wind tower multiple times per day.

Walk across the hub and, in emergencies, able to repel off.

Comfortable working at heights over 300 feet.

Meet weight requirements for tower ladders (250‑300 lbs. max including PPE).

Comfortable working in confined spaces.

Capable of repetitive motion activities such as kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, standing, and bending.

Handle repetitive weight up to 50 lbs.

Successful completion of climb test(s) and tower rescue training.

Responsibilities

Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety procedures.

Perform basic mechanical installations, maintenance, operations, and upgrades.

Ensure work complies with customer requirements.

Execute work based on established procedures and document all performed tasks.

Report violations, submit progress reports, and repair or replace parts.

Know and safely use activity tools.

Occasionally work independently on a component as part of a maintenance project.

Dismantle and assemble basic machinery, components, equipment, or tooling.

Travel up to 25% of the time.

Work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.

Work at heights and in all weather conditions.

Maintain a valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
