Mechanical Apprentice - Pipefitter

Position Summary
The Mechanical Apprentice will assist licensed tradesman with the installation or maintenance and inspection of mechanical systems and associated processes.
Role and Responsibilities
Regular attendance at assigned location that may include office or other project sites
Work with materials that include cast iron, PVC, polypropylene, copper (solder and pro‑press), stainless steel, carbon steel
Measure, cut, thread or bend pipe to required angle using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe‑threading machines, or pipe‑bending machines
Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes or fixtures in structures
Assemble pipe sections, tubing or fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts or soldering equipment
Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, or fixtures using hand or power tools
Test pipes or fixtures for leaks using various methods
Essential Skills & Characteristics
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Follow plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
Strict adherence to all safety rules and quality standards
Interact with all co‑workers and clients in an attentive courteous manner
At times may perform clerical/administrative duties
Participate in site housekeeping
Perform additional duties as directed by SOPs and employee handbook
Educational & Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or relevant work experience
Enrolled in Trade school and/or apprenticeship program
OSHA 10 certification
Understanding and development of daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
