LaSalle Network is seeking an
Urban Planner
to join our client's Planning Team. This role plays a critical part in leading the development of written technical reports, presentations, and project deliverables for municipal, developer, and private‑sector clients.
Municipal experience is essential and represents a major portion of the work. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a practical understanding of planning and permitting processes across varied jurisdictions.

Urban Planner Responsibilities
Lead and manage the production of presentation materials, technical reports, correspondence, and project deliverables
Develop and facilitate community engagement activities and public meetings
Conduct and oversee data collection, research, and analysis
Manage project budgets and schedules
Develop strategies supporting economic development, community development, housing initiatives, efficient land use, and streetscape and mobility improvements
Collaborate with municipalities, developers, architects, landscape architects, engineers, contractors, and community organizations
Interpret and apply applicable state, county, and local codes and ordinances
Assist with proposal development and fee estimates
Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff
Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, public meetings, and community events
Urban Planner Requirements
Minimum 4 years of professional planning experience (6 years preferred for senior‑level responsibilities)
Bachelor’s degree in Planning or a related field
AICP certification required
Strong experience working with municipalities
Knowledge of planning principles, research methods, and data collection
Familiarity with municipal planning and zoning administration
Understanding of development processes, real estate finance, incentives, and public approvals
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu preferred
The compensation for this position is up to $80,000 base salary and full benefits including medical, dental, and 401k match.
