Job Overview The Quality Engineer supports the development of new products by ensuring all customer, TS16949, and regulatory requirements are met, while leading quality planning, PPAP activities, and continuous improvement initiatives in close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, customers, and all levels of plant personnel.
Roles And Responsibilities
Lead APQP activities and ensure all program deliverables are met.
Prepare and submit PPAP documentation for new products and engineering changes.
Maintain and update Control Plans, PFMEA, and associated quality documentation.
Conduct statistical studies, analyze data, and drive corrective actions.
Coordinate problem‑solving efforts for internal and external non‑conformances.
Support fixture builds, including cost, design, quality, and timing.
Validate measurements and metrics with approved laboratories.
Set and maintain internal boundary samples; obtain customer sign‑off when required.
Provide timely resolution of customer concerns and quality complaints.
Participate in customer and external audits (TS16949, ISO14001, etc.).
Train operations team members on quality processes, tools, and requirements.
Experience And Qualifications
High school diploma/GED required; technical degree/certificate in Quality Engineering preferred (CQE).
Minimum 3 years of automotive or manufacturing quality engineering experience, including new program launches.
Strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC). Hands‑on understanding of GD&T, statistics, flow diagrams, and control plans.
Experience using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.).
Ability to interpret internal procedures, customer requirements, and engineering documentation. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to facilitate cross‑functional meetings and work collaboratively at all levels. High integrity, professionalism, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
Prior experience with ISO/TS 16949 and ISO14001 processes.
Root‑cause and corrective‑action expertise (8D, 5‑Phase, Drill Deep methods).
