Summary The Aviation Accessory Technician III is responsible for performing maintenance on fuel, oil, or pneumatic accessories by civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA. This role requires technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assemble fuel controls, or all governors, or fuel, oil, or pneumatic accessories if designated assembler.
Test fuel controls, or limited governors, or fuel, oil, pneumatic accessories if designated test bench operator.
Operate test equipment as needed to ensure accessories pass function test.
Utilize hand tools and specialty tools for precision measurements daily.
Read and interpret technical data and drawings.
Generate data plates for components completed with use of a laser system.
Verify all accessories are tested to the appropriate specifications to ensure airworthiness.
Troubleshoot accessories failing test or set up to determine root cause of failure.
Work closely with quality assurance and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
Document maintenance records of all repair work orders performed.
Other duties as assigned.
