General Description Of Position
Mortgage Loan Originator Responsibilities
Meet the requirement to process all loan requests, ensuring credit, underwriting and closings are completed within designated time frames.
Conduct face‑to‑face or remote meetings with members, collecting data and documentation as required by underwriting units.
Develop relationships with local real‑estate professionals and identify referral opportunities.
Evaluate financial and credit information to determine applicant eligibility.
Provide pre‑qualification information to borrowers and realtors to facilitate negotiation.
Prepare loan files for processing, gathering all necessary documents.
Communicate with borrowers, realtors, and third parties throughout the process, attending local closings when needed.
Collaborate with branch staff to increase business through participation in meetings and community events.
Maintain a professional appearance during community and networking events.
Develop a working knowledge of credit union services, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to mortgage lending.
Contribute to team efforts and perform any other related duties as required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Two years of related mortgage experience.
