What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Conduct audits of medical record documentation for outpatient encounters, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines
Utilize expertise in coding systems such as ICD-10CM, CPT, and HCC to abstract information from electronic health records
Compile and maintain an OP CDI Education database to support documentation and coding education programs
Assist in data-driven projects related to revenue cycle management and performance scorecards
Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to identify trends and support root cause analysis
What is Required (Qualifications)
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
Minimum of two (2) years of coding experience required
Additional specialty coding certification or 5-7 years coding experience required
Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position required
Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding systems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
One to two (1-2) years of college or additional coursework in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Medical Record Sciences preferred
Specialty coding experience preferred
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to recognize patterns and trends in data
