We are the Department of Social Services, Department of Finance. This is a Full‑Time, 40‑hour weekly position located in Pierre, SD. Salary: $68,950.98 annual, depending on qualifications. Pay Grade: K. Closing date: Open until filled.

What You Will Do

Manage and monitor the contract process for the Department of Social Services, including reviewing contracts to ensure compliance with DSS and state/federal standards.

Collaborate with divisions of DSS and other state agencies to modernize processes and implement system updates to streamline operations.

Help team members learn and apply new techniques and change‑management practices within the Division of Finance.

Assist with leading the year‑end accrual process.

Prepare federal financial reports.

Consult with DSS personnel regarding financial data within their area.

Participate and assist in the development of policies and procedures.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a financial or business‑related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.

Eligibility and Benefits This position is exempt from Civil Service. It is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08. The State of South Dakota does not sponsor work visas. All hired employees must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete an Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I‑9). The employer will use E‑Verify upon hire.
