How You Make a Difference As a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA), you will assist with medication administration, inventory management, and safe storage of pharmaceutical items under close supervision. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will support the healthcare team’s delivery of high‑quality care.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and administer prescribed medications under RN supervision, ensuring compliance with facility policies, pharmacy board regulations, and safety principles.

Document medication administration accurately on the Medication Administration Record (MAR), including any medications not administered and reasons for non‑administration.

Adhere to infection control techniques, incorporate universal precautions, and uphold the six rights of medication administration.

Participate in data collection, medication audits, and performance improvement activities, promptly reporting adverse reactions to supervisors.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medication cart, reorder and replace medications and supplies as needed, and uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements Education

High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience

One (1) year related experience in a medical environment preferred.

Completed QMAP training and passed competency evaluation in accordance with program requirements.

Licenses / Certifications

Must have current CPR Certification and provide QMAP ID number for online verification.
