Healdsburg, CA. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for assisting in the development, assembly, testing, system integration and troubleshooting of stabilized optical gimbal systems used in advanced imaging and motion platforms, in an AS9100/ISO9001 environment. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to ensure precision, performance, and reliability in every system we deliver. These advanced technologies are primarily employed in maritime and aerial environments, where your expertise will contribute to our ongoing pursuit of excellence. This is a non‑exempt, non‑supervisory, full‑time position.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assemble, test, and troubleshoot stabilized optical gimbal systems and complex electro‑optical/electromechanical assemblies
Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on optics, electronics, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit assemblies (PCAs), custom cable harnesses, and control system issues
Operate test apparatus for electrical, optical, and mechanical systems
Document and maintain assembly procedures, fixtures, and tracking systems
Identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions; generate Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs)
Conduct functional and performance testing using specialized equipment
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve designs, resolve technical issues, and support documentation development
Ensure timely completion of tasks to meet customer delivery schedules
Perform additional duties as assigned; occasional travel (up to 10%)

Strong foundation in both electronics and mechanical systems, including hands‑on assembly, tuning, and troubleshooting of electromechanical devices
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
Skilled in the use of hand tools, torque tools, soldering, crimping, and precision measurement equipment
Demonstrated experience with basic electronics test equipment (e.g., AC/DC power supplies, digital multimeters)
Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Familiarity with ERP systems and lab management practices, including tool tracking, maintenance scheduling, and consumable management
Strong organizational skills, eagerness to learn, and ability to take direction from engineering and program management
