Primary Purpose:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist works collaboratively with other members of the Talent Team to deliver recruitment services for assigned non‑exempt positions. The Specialist represents the organization to prospective candidates and functions as their point of contact, providing timely and effective recruitment services for both candidates and hiring supervisors. The Specialist builds and maintains key relationships with potential candidates, applicants, and hiring supervisors, thriving in a fast‑paced environment that manages multiple non‑exempt requisitions.
Essential Functions
Represents the organization as the primary point of contact for recruitment activities.
Assists hiring supervisors to identify expectations, clarify processes, and provide regular updates.
Promotes recruiting strategies specific to assigned positions using designated resources to attract quality candidates.
Utilizes employment branding practices, tactical outreach, referent generation, corporate events, job fairs, networking, and pipelining efforts.
Identifies qualified candidates and manages the pre‑screening process for high‑volume non‑exempt positions to ensure minimum qualifications are met.
Sources, identifies, recruits and screens potential candidates; administers assessments, checks references, and communicates offers for non‑exempt positions as assigned.
Manages candidate activity in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
Collaborates with internal team members to promote and facilitate hiring needs.
Cultivates and maintains excellent relationships and consistent communication with candidates and hiring supervisors to promote teamwork and credibility.
Recognizes priorities, manages deadlines, and exercises professionalism in interactions with internal and external clients.
Maintains established performance criteria for quality, process efficiency, productivity and speed.
Ensures an excellent candidate experience.
Helps drive strong satisfaction ratings with hiring supervisors, managers, applicants, candidates and other leaders in the organization.
Ensures compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical and Other Requirements
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: Occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment requiring use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC, OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: Conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Sedentary Work: Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as making general observations of depth and distance.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.
Preferred Education
Associates Degree or better in Human Resources or related field.
Bachelor's Degree or better in Human Resources or related field.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or Associate’s degree with two years of experience in a Recruiting/Talent or HR related position, or high school diploma or equivalent with four years of experience in Recruiting/Talent or HR related position.
Preferred Experience
Working knowledge of federal and state HR laws.
Familiar with HR technology (HRIS Applications).
Knowledge of health care or clinical laboratory industry.
Skills in Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems.
