Job Overview HPM Inc. is seeking a Project Manager 1 or 2 (DOE) based out of our Englewood, CO headquarters. This role provides project team leadership and has overall and bottom‑line responsibility for the success of the project, including the capability to lead projects ranging from $15M to $50M.

We operate throughout the front range, select Colorado locations, and key out‑of‑state projects, including a secondary office in Anchorage, AK. We pride ourselves on clean, organized, and professional projects with an emphasis on successful client relationships, working for repeat clients such as local governments, private clients, and the federal government.

Pay Range Project Manager 1: $115,000‑130,000 / Project Manager 2: $130,000‑145,000

Minimum Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in construction management, construction engineering, or a related field; or comparable work experience.

10+ years of experience in commercial, civil, and/or federal construction.

OSHA 30 certification.

Preferred Qualifications

USACE CQM certification.

Duties & Responsibilities Safety

Leads and drives the safety culture – leads by example.

Proactively places a high priority on safety at all times.

Performs regularly scheduled site safety audits.

Sets expectations with the project team and subcontractors and holds them accountable for safe behavior.

Ensures job‑site reporting follows company procedures.

Quality

Ensures defect prevention, quality control, and quality assurance plans are in place for proper work execution.

Periodically audits field operations for compliance with the quality program.

Leads project quality staff and steps in to perform their duties if necessary.

Compliance

Ensures full compliance with all project general contracts and subcontracts.

Secures necessary permits including building, fire, health, right‑of‑way, and stormwater.

Understands occupancy certificate processes in all relevant jurisdictions.

Maintains up‑to‑date inspections and documentation.

Scheduling

Maintains, updates, communicates, and implements the project schedule as required.

Generates and updates baseline schedules and all other scheduling requirements.

Project Administration

Leads project team to complete administrative tasks (e.g., RFIs, submittals, procurement log, engineering tasks) in a timely manner and steps in to perform them if necessary.

Builds professional relationships with owners, designers, and trade partners.

Promotes constructive working relationships with owners, designers, and trade partners.

Maintains overall responsibility for the project through the warranty period and beyond.

Cost Control

Stewards project cost and makes best financial decisions.

Reviews the project estimate with the preconstruction team upon award.

Establishes and maintains project cost control using HPM systems.

Monitors and manages all costs and budgets for the duration of the.>

Prepares month‑end reporting.

Procurement/Tracking

Ensures all subcontracts support the project schedule.

Identifies long‑lead materials and incorporates them into the schedule.

Tracks long‑lead procurement to ensure schedule adherence.

Field Execution

Ensures the project is built per plan, specifications, and schedule.

Conducts regular site visits and engages with field personnel.

Contract Administration

Familiarity with all construction and contract documents, including changes.

Tracks cost, facilitates resolution, and procures compensation for changes.

Documents and tracks change events in Procore.

Leads change order pricing and processing.

Assesses impact of changes on the schedule and costs.

Performs Time Impact Analysis as required.

Teaches subcontract writing principles and prepares complex subcontracts.

People Development

Provides direct management and oversight, performance evaluation, training, and career development for direct reports, including field staff.

Provides leadership to the entire project team, both internally and externally, from issuance of construction documents onward.

Basic Requirements

Must be over 18.

Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills, adept at prioritizing and multitasking in fast‑paced environments.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Motivated self‑starter dedicated to excellence and proactive problem‑solving.

Demonstrates a strong work ethic and commitment to accurate results.

Deep commitment to safety, working closely with team members to prevent accidents/injuries.

Solid computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Bluebeam, with willingness to adapt to new software. Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, and scheduling tools is a plus.

Solid understanding of quantity tracking as related to production and budget.

Collaborative team member capable of autonomously achieving goals.

Consistent and punctual attendance.

Complete tasks within deadlines during standard hours and be available for overtime and weekend work as necessary.

Work safely and efficiently, adhering to both oral and written instructions, including safety protocols, equipment guidelines, and company policies.

Exert extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting.

Lift 25+ pounds frequently.
