Core Responsibilities
Support Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects;
Perform civil engineering design and associated calculations and interpret plans from other engineering‑related disciplines;
Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects;
Perform independent research and delegate changing priorities;
Adhere to Horrocks safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment;
Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work that is error‑free;
Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
B.S. in Civil Engineering – EIT
2‑4+ years of experience in civil design is preferred. Entry‑level candidates will be considered
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
Have a strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines
Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
Be able to develop designs and documentation using MicroStation ORD or Autodesk Civil 3D or other design software (MicroStation ORD is preferred)
Manage project data files from various sources
Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in‑person and virtually/remotely
Ability to travel and perform fieldwork on occasion
Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities
