Junior Analytical Chemist at Premier Research Labs.
Position Summary The Senior Analytical Chemist is an experienced scientist with a strong background in methods development and validation. The ideal candidate will hold at least a Master’s degree in Chemistry and have a minimum of 10 years of hands‑on experience in analytical sciences. Experience with natural products chemistry and complex botanical or nutritional matrices is highly valued. This role will contribute to the development, characterization, and quality assurance of innovative products through advanced analytical techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods (HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS, UV‑Vis, etc.) to support R&D, manufacturing, and quality control needs.
Analyze raw materials, intermediates, and finished products for identity, purity, potency, and stability.
Lead troubleshooting of analytical challenges and provide scientific expertise across departments.
Design experiments, interpret complex datasets, and present findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Author and review technical reports, method SOPs, and regulatory documentation (as applicable).
Mentor junior chemists and provide technical leadership within the analytical team.
Stay current with advances in analytical instrumentation, method development strategies, and regulatory requirements.
Work Environment
Physical demands: stand for long periods of time; occasional heavy lifting.
Work schedule: Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am‑4:00 pm (shifts may vary); occasional overtime may be required.
No travel required.
Qualifications
M.S. or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Natural Products Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of industry experience in analytical chemistry, preferably in natural products, pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, or related fields.
Proven track record in method development and validation for complex matrices.
Expertise in advanced chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques (e.g., HPLC, LC‑MS, GC, ICP‑MS, NMR).
Strong understanding of natural product characterization, phytochemical analysis, and bioactive compound quantification is highly desirable.
Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (e.g., USP, ICH, FDA, cGMP).
Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability.
Preferred Attributes
Experience with botanical raw materials, herbal extracts, or dietary supplement formulations.
Knowledge of chemometrics, metabolomics, or advanced statistical approaches to data analysis.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across interdisciplinary teams.
