Position Summary The Senior Production Planner manages the initiation of sales orders into the production plan. Responsible for project schedule execution through the production process, executing change requests and engineering revisions.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship.
Commute: Must be able to commute to Hobart, Indiana on a daily basis.
Communication Skills: Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
Salary $57,000K-$60,000K
Responsibilities
Converts all new sales orders from quote to production status; assigns shipping dates to sales orders that don't require assembly
Manages sales order change requests, including analyzing the effect on resources, costs, and schedule
Works with Project Execution and Customer Service on schedules for major projects
Communicates with Shipping and Traffic to ensure expected delivery to job sites
Supports the Planning Manager to coordinate the Specials quoting process
Ensures the production plan is met by monitoring demand and scheduling and working with Purchasing and Production Schedulers
Processes bill of material revisions, evaluating and communicating the impact of changes to Production Control Management, Scheduling, Customer Service, and Project Execution
Supports the Planning Manager with the returned merchandise process
Supports the Shipping Scheduler by managing the conversion and ship dates for Wynparts orders
Assists with metrics collection and reporting, including Plant Capacity report, Delivery key performance indicators and Supply and Operations Planning data collection
Serves as back‑up for the Planning Manager and helps train new production control employees
Takes part in internal and external training in planning and business techniques
Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of policies and procedures.
Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience
Minimum of 3 years of production planning or project scheduling experience
Knowledge of MRP systems and experience with advanced user functionality; SAP (MM/PP/PS) experience preferred.
Strong Microsoft Excel Knowledge; ability to perform V-look ups, X‑Look ups, Pivot Tables, Formulas, etc.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Self‑motivated and Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
Ability to multi‑task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
Highly detailed‑oriented and organized
Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
