Overview Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
This is a full-time direct-hire position located at or near our Hoover Road facility in Milan, Ohio. The successful applicant will work closely for an extended duration with more senior personnel to gain knowledge and skills applicable to their field while supporting the reactivation and operation of a world-class government-owned aerospace research and test facility.
Responsibilities We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Mechanical Technician.
Equipment Operation: Operate various mechanical tools and equipment, including drill presses, band saws, grinders, and other hand and power tools.
Maintenance Support: Assist in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Assembly and Fabrication: Participate in the assembly and fabrication of mechanical components, following technical drawings and specifications.
Troubleshooting: Identify and report mechanical issues, assisting in troubleshooting and problem-solving under supervision.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
High School graduate, GED or equivalent
Interested in pursuing a career as a Mechanical Engineering Technician
Must be mechanically inclined and able to perform manual labor
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools
Sufficient mathematical skills to perform job dutiesWillingness to take training classes as needed
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to learn and develop new skills. (Welding, Machining, Pressure System Fabrication, Forklift and Crane Operation, etc.)
