Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Lead to oversee the implementation phase, support activities, and continuous improvement of our Valve Condition Monitoring (VCM) data collection models. In this strategic, global, and hands‑on role you will support global teams, sustain existing service contracts, and lead the development and deployment of secure data‑collection solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and long‑term reliability of VCM services across diverse industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support for Global Opportunities: Serve as the technical authority for VCM technologies, providing expert guidance to world‑area teams pursuing new VCM opportunities.

Solution Design & Proposal Development: Assist in solution design, proposal development, and customer presentations to align with service capabilities and customer needs.

Technical Liaison: Act as a liaison between regional teams and central engineering, software development, and support resources.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality protocols during service implementation.

Service Sustainment & Troubleshooting: Primary technical contact for world‑area VCM teams, diagnosing and resolving technical issues affecting existing VCM contracts.

Root Cause Analysis: Lead analysis and corrective actions for system failures, data‑collection anomalies, or connectivity issues.

Field Collaboration: Work with field service and support teams across Emerson groups to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.

Training & Workshops: Conduct training sessions and workshops for world‑area VCM teams on system configuration and maintenance best practices.

Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation, service manuals, troubleshooting guides, functional design specifications, and FAQs.

Online Data Collection Solutions: Review, design, and implement secure online data‑collection models using PERA and data‑diode solutions for Industrial Control Systems.

Cybersecurity Collaboration: Work with cybersecurity, IT, and engineering teams to ensure compliance with data‑protection standards and operational integrity.

Innovation: Drive innovation in remote monitoring capabilities to enhance service scalability and responsiveness.

Process Ownership: Define, document, and continuously improve the end‑to‑end VCM implementation process, including planning, installation, commissioning, and validation.

Tools & Training: Develop or recommend tools, training materials, process guides, and best practices to support global deployment teams.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls/Instrumentation, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.

Experience: 5+ years in IT/OT systems for industrial and enterprise environments, including networking, credential management, domain services, and application integration.

OT Networking & ISA 62443: Experience with secure data architectures, Purdue Model zones/levels, firewalls, jump servers, secure remote access, data diodes, and segmented architectures in plant environments.

Industrial Plant Architecture: Familiarity with control systems, asset‑management platforms, and IIoT technologies.

Troubleshooting & Sustainment: Proven experience in a customer‑facing technical role, root‑cause analysis, diagnosing anomalies, connectivity issues, and field‑device failures.

Cross‑Functional Leadership: Ability to act as a technical authority/liaison across regional teams, central engineering, and customer stakeholders; run workshops and deliver training.

Communication: Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to lead colleagues by influence, engage with customers at decision‑making levels.

Analytical & Project Management: Excellent analytical thinker with project‑management and prioritization skills; well‑organized and detail oriented.

Documentation & Process: Define, document, and continuously improve implementation processes; create service manuals, troubleshooting guides, and maintain a quality knowledge base.

Self‑Management: Excels at self‑managing workload and executing multiple concurrent projects to meet deadlines.

Organizational Interaction: Ability to interact with all levels of the organization to meet milestones.

Preferred Qualifications

Industrial Automation Experience: Experience in instrumentation or control systems in process industries, including commissioning, support, and troubleshooting of instrumentation devices.

Valve Instrumentation: Hands‑on experience with control valves, positioners, digital valve controllers, and protocols such as HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, and Modbus.

Predictive Maintenance: Good understanding of predictive maintenance and valve diagnostics technologies.

Emerson Products: Experience with Emerson DVCs, ValveLink software, asset‑management systems, smart instrumentation, calibration, and loop checks.

Cybersecurity Standards: Familiarity with IEC/ISA 62443 and NIST SP 800‑82.

Secure Architecture Implementation: Experience designing and deploying secure architectures from field device through control network, historian/cloud, to analytics.

Cyber‑OT Collaboration: Experience working with cybersecurity/IT/engineering to meet policy and standard requirements, including segmentation, hardening, logging, remote‑access governance, and data‑diode integration.
