Maintenance Mechanic II – Hazleton, PA – Pactiv Evergreen Inc. (now part of Novolex). Compensation
Starting pay rate $29.11 per hour (plus $1 differential for evening shift).

Diagnose and repair faulty production and related plant equipment with minimal supervision using schematics, manuals and drawings. Diagnose and repair electro‑mechanical, electrical problems; apply preventative maintenance strategies. Identify faulty parts, generate requisitions for spares or replacements. Maintain knowledge of spare parts inventory and observe storage procedures. General working knowledge of machine shop equipment. Lead co‑workers in assigned tasks with a team‑oriented, leadership approach. Maintain records and established maintenance procedures. Maintain a clean, safe working environment. Perform additional duties related to each shift as assigned by the maintenance supervisor. Other duties as necessary. Technical Competencies
Administrative: accurately post data to ERP or peripheral software systems. Communication/Teamwork: communicate effectively and work closely as part of a cross‑functional team; build an atmosphere of openness, honesty, trust, and teamwork; multi‑task and prioritize without loss of effectiveness. Safety: understand and actively participate in all company safety programs, policies and procedures. Quality: develop and maintain ISO‑compliant processes. Technical Knowledge: advanced comprehensive knowledge of entire process from concept to commercialization. Operate Equipment: safely operate motorized equipment, peripheral equipment, standard hand tools, and basic machine shop equipment. Maintenance/Repair: advanced mechanical aptitude; thorough knowledge of production technological methods and capabilities of machines and equipment in manufacturing facilities. Qualifications
Three to five years of experience in a related field. Mechanical pre‑test to employment. High school diploma/equivalent required. Completion of a vocational or trade school curriculum with a concentration in electro‑mechanical courses desired. Proficient with precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Strong speaking and presentation skills for effective meetings. Pass multi‑choice with handwritten section test. ADA – Essential Functions
Work 8, 10 and/or 12‑hour shift, standing and walking for extended periods. Climb. Heed safety warnings, devices and alarms. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs. Problem‑solve and establish cause and effect relationships in an office and/or manufacturing environment. Company Information
