GIS Analyst Flint Hills Resources is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to join the Mapping team in Wichita, KS, within the Pipelines and Terminals organization. In this key role, you will provide expert support for the enterprise GIS system, delivering high-impact mapping and data solutions that enhance safe, efficient, and reliable pipeline and terminal operations.

What You Will Do

Support and manage PODS database leveraging ESRI APR to ensure pipeline network data is up to date and meets business requirements.

Collaborate with the Projects’ capability to ensure as‑built survey deliverables meet expectations and are delivered on time.

Collect, manage, and maintain spatial datasets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with standards.

Perform advanced geospatial analysis, including spatial statistics, network analysis, and geoprocessing using ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, and extensions (e.g., Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst, 3D Analyst).

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate GIS with other systems and support project requirements.

Design, develop, and deploy custom GIS applications, tools, and workflows using ArcGIS development technologies, such as ArcPy (Python scripting), ArcGIS API for JavaScript, and ArcGIS Runtime SDKs.

Automate repetitive tasks and geoprocessing workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.

Create interactive web maps, dashboards, and story maps using ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal for ArcGIS.

Provide technical support and training to end‑users on ESRI tools and custom applications.

Stay current with ESRI advancements and best practices in GIS technology.

Basic Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with the full ESRI ArcGIS suite, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and key extensions.

Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field, or 3+ years of professional experience as a GIS Analyst or similar role.

ESRI Technical Certifications (e.g., ArcGIS Desktop Associate/Professional, ArcGIS Developer).

Experience with spatial analysis techniques and data visualization.

Strong understanding of geospatial data management, including enterprise geodatabases.

Experience with ESRI Mobile Suite (Field Maps and Survey123).

Experience in remote sensing, including working with raster imagery and lidar data to support spatial analysis and change detection; experience in pipeline or utilities industry, including knowledge of Linear Referencing, PODS, and the ESRI Pipeline Referencing toolset.

Proven ArcGIS development experience, including:

Scripting with Python (ArcPy) for automation and tool development.

Web development using ArcGIS API for JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and related frameworks.

Experience building custom applications, add‑ins, or widgets.

Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python).

Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project management skills.
