Implant Process Engineer
Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology. This role focuses on establishing and maintaining world‑class process and equipment, implementing yield enhancement, and solving complex process and equipment issues.
Position Summary Seeking a process engineer who will work with a talented team to improve process performance and ensure high yield. Responsibilities include monitoring, qualifying, adjusting processes and equipment, communicating technical information, and revising SOPs.
Role & Responsibilities
Monitors wafer fabrication process, responding to inline issues and disposition of production wafers.
Qualifies wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
Coordinates scheduling of process qualifications and equipment downtime with manufacturing or equipment engineering.
Uses software to analyze data, identify trends, and make decisions about processing product.
Adjusts process parameters when exceeded and monitors parameters after maintenance.
Executes in‑line changes (CPM) on process or equipment.
Communicates technical information within the department through presentations.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Continually revises Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Develops improved processes to increase capability.
Education & Eligibility
BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science.
Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0.
Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Willing to relocate to Austin, Texas.
Skills & Qualifications
Scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent.
Understanding of statistical methods.
Change Point Management.
Presentation and technical writing.
Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
Structured problem solving (8D, 7‑step, etc.).
Data‑analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.).
Troubleshooting equipment or process failures.
High initiative.
Fit to wear clean‑room suit and PPE per SAS FAB protocol.
Able to lift.
Works in tight‑fitting FAB environment.
Seated at a computer terminal for extended periods.
Vision: exposure to yellow lights, blinking lights; audible alarm discernment.
Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Support 24×7 manufacturing shift duties.
Compensation Base salary range: $70,480 – $179,090, depending on duties, location, education, and experience. Total compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive programs and MBO bonuses.
