Summary

A leading defense and aerospace manufacturer is seeking an experienced Responsible Engineer Authority (Level 4 or Level 5) to support multiple high‑priority production programs at its Camden, AR facility. This role serves as the on‑site engineering authority for assessing, prioritizing, and dispositioning production non‑conformances while driving process optimization and yield improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on manufacturing experience, deep understanding of materials and processes, and proven root‑cause analysis capabilities. This engineer will work closely with cross‑functional teams—including Quality, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering—to ensure product integrity, on‑time delivery, and continuous improvement across critical production lines.

Responsibilities

Lead real‑time evaluation and dispositioning of WIP non‑conformances (repair, rework, scrap) to maintain production flow.

Drive process optimization and yield improvement initiatives, including DFMEA/PFMEA updates and risk mitigation activities.

Provide technical input to Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts and support systemic learning across the production environment.

Assist in designing, testing, and improving equipment, processes, production systems, and procedures.

Represent engineering on the Material Review Board (MRB) and ensure accurate technical analysis for disposition.

Collaborate closely with program, quality, manufacturing, and design engineering teams to resolve issues and enhance product reliability.

Apply Systems Engineering principles in requirements analysis, risk management, and production planning.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and support continuous improvement initiatives across assigned programs.

Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills:

Strong background in

root‑cause analysis , corrective action, and structured problem‑solving.

Experience with

machining ,

molding ,

casting ,

adhesives , or

composite repair .

Hands‑on

production floor

experience, including troubleshooting and process evaluation.

Familiarity with

NDT

methods of any type.

Understanding of

chemical systems

or material behavior relevant to manufacturing processes.

Ability to assess hardware non‑conformances and determine engineering dispositions.

Knowledge of manufacturing and yield improvement strategies, including risk management methods.

Proficiency in engineering tools, test equipment, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.

Soft Skills:

Strong ability to create and deliver technical presentations to large engineering teams.

Mastery of Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Excellent written communication and technical report‑writing capability.

Understanding of basic probability related to product or process variation.

Other Requirements:

Ability to obtain or currently hold a

SECRET Security Clearance .

Bachelor's degree in engineering and 6+ years of experience (or equivalent per requirements).
