Intermediate Architect II (6+ Years Experience) – New York Join a design-driven, multidisciplinary studio known for creating architecture that blends innovation, context, and craft. Our work spans residential, hospitality, commercial, cultural, and institutional projects, with strengths in adaptive reuse, new construction, planning, and interiors. The Role As an Architectural Designer II / Architect II, you’ll help drive design development, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to projects from concept through construction. You’ll apply advanced architectural concepts, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and support the development of details, documents, and presentations with increasing independence. You may also guide junior staff.
Design & Planning
Contribute to design from early concept through detailed documentation
Create presentations, renderings, 3D views, and material selections
Understand scope, schedules, and deliverables
Project Coordination
Assist with meeting agendas, invites, and minutes
Work closely with consultants and manage BIM coordination
Support contractor communication, RFIs, and submittals
Provide mentorship to less experienced team members
Documentation
Produce DD and CD drawings, schedules, and specifications
Integrate design changes and coordinate consultant sets
Develop and refine project details
Organize correspondence and support client meeting prep
Quality & Technical Excellence
Follow studio standards and checklists
Apply working knowledge of codes and accessibility requirements
Construction Administration
Support site visits, shop-drawing review, RFIs, and punch lists
Attend progress meetings as directed
Help maintain CA logs and prepare record documents
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture or related field
6+ years of professional experience with a strong portfolio
Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Enscape, Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office
Strong design, communication, coordination, and organizational skills
