Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an Accountant. This is a contract to a potential direct position.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports and statements, performing bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, sound business acumen, and the ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing or corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and periodicals
Perform bank reconciliations and oversee general ledger accuracy
Conduct cyclical audits to ensure financial compliance and controls
Create ad‑hoc financial reports to support various business needs
Prepare and coordinate tax‑related documents and filings
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data
Collaborate cross‑functionally to support business decision‑making
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
CPA, CMA, or CA designation preferred
Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience with full responsibility for the finance function
Experience in a manufacturing or corporate environment; automotive industry experience preferred
Experience working in an AS400 environment; Epicor (CMS) experience strongly preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and reports
Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time‑management skills
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
Strong business acumen and professional judgment
Effective written and verbal communication skills
