Summary The Machinist IV is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and modifying aviation accessories using advanced machining techniques articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills, lathes, or hones machining equipment, to repair parts to required specifications.
Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.
Prioritize aviation accessories for repair to meet on-time delivery and production deadlines.
Develop and duplicate tooling using engineering drawings and blueprints.
Document maintenance and repair work performed in accordance with FAA and company requirements.
Inspect work completed on aviation components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Utilize precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges daily.
Maintain an accurate inventory of shop supplies and tooling to support daily operations.
Ensure up-to-date knowledge and safe operation of all tools and equipment within assigned work areas.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering to resolve non-conformances.
Adhere to FAA Part 145 Repair Station standards and all company safety protocols.
Other duties as assigned.
