Position Overview: First Team Automotive Group is seeking an experienced and

SHRM-certified Human Resources Generalist

to join our HR department. This position plays a vital role in supporting our dealerships’ employees and management teams, ensuring smooth HR operations, compliance, and accurate payroll processing. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately process and review bi-weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with all applicable wage and hour regulations.

Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity within the HRIS and payroll systems.

Support recruitment efforts, onboarding, and orientation for new hires.

Administer employee benefits and respond to related inquiries.

Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.

Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, and corrective action processes.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws as well as company policies.

Participate in HR projects, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

Collaborate with accounting and management teams to ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of payroll data.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification required.

Minimum 3 years of HR generalist experience; automotive dealership or multi-location experience strongly preferred.

Proficiency in payroll processing (ADP, Paycom, or similar systems).

Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Proficient with HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
