Job Summary

Under general supervision, responsible for performing diagnostics, repairing and maintaining various types of vehicles and equipment, including "on" and "off" road vehicles, heavy equipment, all-terrain vehicles, snow grooming equipment, and snowmobiles. Assists other departments as necessary. Performs troubleshooting to test operational efficiency of engines and drivetrain, hydraulic and exhaust systems, etc. and determines cause(s) of malfunction(s). Prescribes and performs emergency repairs to equipment in the field. Performs related work as required or assigned. Essential Functions / Responsibilities

Assists in maintaining a preventative maintenance program for a variety of equipment. Detect, diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, defects or deficiencies. Maintains detailed records of all performed work, sufficient to log, track and retrieve maintenance histories on equipment. Orders necessary parts for the repair and maintenance of equipment. Maintains and documents an inventory of materials, parts, and tools necessary to perform maintenance activities. Maintains the shop and building grounds in a clean and safe manner. Operates various types of equipment as necessary to perform job duties. Maintains and ensures a safe work environment, including standards for maintenance and upkeep of the facility's equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Notifies Manager of all unusual events, circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Manager and/or Directors. Skills and Knowledge Requirements

At least one year of direct or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent required. Post-Secondary preferred. Must possess a valid Class D driver's license, Class A license preferred. Ability to communicate verbal and written instructions effectively. Read and write work-related documents in English. Ability to understand basic electrical and hydraulic schematics. Physical Requirements

Able to bend, lift, carry, crawl, climb, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. Ability to perform work in all weather conditions including extremes of heat and cold both indoors and outdoors. Ability to safely operate snowcats, snowmobiles, ATVs, and other equipment on difficult uneven terrain. Must have the ability to engage in a wide variety of physical activities including walking, and working on uneven or slippery surfaces, climbing ladders and stairs, kneeling, squatting, etc. Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays. Able to lift, carry, and push up to 25 lbs. regularly, 50 lbs. frequently, and 70 lbs. or more occasionally. Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties. Equipment Used

Variety of off and on road transportation vehicles including UTVs, ATV's and snowmobiles Variety of construction equipment including telescopic forklift, skid steer and excavator Various maintenance equipment including hand tools, power tools, electrical systems tools Presses Rigging Equipment Computer Starting Hourly Rate

Starting hourly rate commensurate with experience: $19.00 - $30.00. What We're Looking For:

At least one year of relevant experience or equivalent education. High School Diploma or G.E.D. Valid Class D driver's license (Class A preferred). Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Knowledge of basic electrical and hydraulic systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
