The work hours are Monday‑Friday, 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM during off‑peak times and 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM during on‑peak times, including some weekends. This is an on‑site role that will be assigned to our office location where you will work 100% of the time.

Responsibilities

Provides direction and mechanical support to all production mechanics as required. Monitors all work in progress ensuring a constant production workflow is maintained and equipment repairs are completed in a timely fashion.

Maintains our parts inventory for all equipment by providing a complete list of parts to be ordered, including the vendor and associated cost for each part.

Monitors records of preventive maintenance performed on equipment and ensures that maintenance occurs according to scheduled deadlines.

Keeps informed of new technology and equipment used by the technical support and production operations departments.

Fills in and assumes all management responsibilities in the Department Manager’s absence.

Accountable to meet or exceed Cost Per Unit targets on his/her shift (labor costs, overtime, inventory control, etc.).

Monitors and maximizes machine throughput.

Coaches, counsels, motivates, develops, supports, encourages and instructs all technicians under direct report.

Verifies all administrative work is filled out properly, monitoring and following departmental procedures.

Rewards, recognizes and disciplines associates.

Maintains all records pertaining to department personnel under individual report.

Span of control, approx: 6‑8 FTAs + 6‑8 TEs and all production equipment used by technical support and production operations.

Position requires daily communication/update with senior management on strategic work scheduling issues.

Monitors daily reports on throughput and equipment downtime giving feedback to department personnel.

May perform other duties/responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Associate degree or Technical/Trade School

5+ years experience and proven proficiency in the operation and repair of production equipment.

Proficiency in the operation and repair of insertion and bindery equipment; electronic and electric circuit experience necessary.

Electrical and electronics repair a plus.Knowledge, understanding and experience of reporting tools Jet/IQ.

Experienced in Microsoft Office.

3 years minimum supervisory experience in a high‑volume production environment.

Functional/technical skills.

Attention to detail.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to take direction and to work under pressure due to time constraints as necessary.
